WE INTRODUCE OURSELVES
The Chapter for the Americas of the INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HUMAN RIGHTS (IIDH-Americas) promotes the achievement in the Americas of all the objectives and purposes of the UN Human Rights Committee (Geneva), the Inter-American Human Rights System (San José de Costa Rica-Washington) and the European Charter of Human Rights.
We support the sanction by all member countries of the United Nations (UN) of a "Human Rights Code" as there are civil and penal codes in each country as positive law. In this way we follow the usual Recommendations of the Human Rights Committee of the United Nations.
We promote the model "Human Rights Code" published by the Canadian-American publishing house Thomson-Reuters in the "International Treatise on Human Rights".
Likewise, we hold seminars, colloquiums and congresses in agreement with governments, international organizations and public and private universities through our various Councils, for which we have jurists, sociologists, political scientists, diplomats, magistrates and other experts among our members.
Finally, we establish Corresponding Offices in all the countries of the Americas through agreements with the different States of the continent.
